New Beginings

This scrap tag tutorial was written by me Diane Knight on 24 March 2009 any resemblance to any other tut is purely coincidental
For this tut I am using the fantastic artwork of SCOTT BLAIR
you can purchase her tubes from MPT

for this tutorial you may need a basic knowledge of PSP

mask25 by VIX download from her site HERE under goodies

and this stunning Scrap kit called New Beginings by Kirstys Scraps which you can purchase HERE her blog is HERE

add the mask to your masks folder....

open a new canvas 600 x 600

floodfill with white,
copy and paste paper16 from the kit onto your canvas as a new layer

apply the mask using these settings

go to Layers merge group

copy and paste dustSprinkle1 onto the canvas as a new layer,

copy and paste Frame6 onto the canvas

add a drop shadow as follows

 

copy and paste ribbon7 from the kit and resize by 70% add a drop shadow , arrange to the top middle of the frame

copy and paste the lilac beaded heart onto the canvas, resize by 30% and then rotate left by 25% ..this will make the beads a little blurry, to fix that go to adjust sharpness - sharpen.
slide this underneath the frame and arrange to the right hand side

copy and paste the tube onto the canvas arrange to your liking, slide underneath the frame. now we are going to remove the excess from the bottom of the frame...as i do not want to see her feet poking out of the bottom...

to do this zoom in and select your freehand tool on these settings...

and click around the frame to remove the excess - hit the delete key.

see below for screenshot of area you want to remove...do not stress if its not perfect, we can cover up with elements from the kit...

 

ok now add a drop shadow...

then duplicate the tube and slide above the frame....now using the same method as before remove the bottom of the tube up to her chest area. see below for screenshot...

the idea here is to make it appear like her head and wings are in front of the frame and her body is behind the frame and ribbon...

ok now thats done, copy and paste the charmheart1 (the hanging purple charm) onto your canvas resize using smartsize by 50% and arrange to the right side of the frame, then add a drop shadow,

copy and paste the wings1 from the kit, and resize by 30% add a drop shadow and slide behind the purple charm...


now add leaf2 resize by 25% then duplicate and mirror and arrange both to the bottom right side of the frame

now add the gold berries reize by 50% and rotate right by 50% arrange to the right hand side...

then add leaf1 from the kit, resize by 50% and rotate left by 50, arrange to the bottom left of the frame

now add ribbbon8 resize by 90% and arange to the bottom of the frame....add a drop shadow.

add ribbon1, arrange to the bottom, add a drop shadow ..

now add flowers and elements of choice around the bottom to fill it out.... see my tag for ideas

font used was Ravenscroft on size 36 lilac for top tag and 48 with gold for the bottom tag...

add your Artist © and your name and save as a . png or a jpg either is good
