OBSIDIAN

This tutorial was written by me 22nd November 2008 any resemblance to any other tut is purely coincidental

for this tutorial I am using the following supplies:

scrap kit used was obsidian freebie add on by Yarrow download it from her blog

.
2 masks from Weescotslass numbers 83 , 109

Font used was Inspiration, its a ptu font sorry i cannot share it.

For this tut I am using the artwork of Zindy S. D. Nielson if using the same tube you need to purchase tubes from her site HERE

Place the mask in your masks folder before you begin...

open canvas 600 x600

copy and paste paper05 onto your canvas
go to Layers Load/save mask - load mask from disk
look for the mask named WSL_Mask83
and using these settings, load the mask

layers merge - merge group

copy and paste paper01 onto your canvas
go to Layers Load/save mask - load mask from disk
look for the mask named WSL_Mask109
and using these settings, load the mask

layers merge - merge group
then go to Image - mirror.

then copy and paste paper02 onto your canvas
go to Layers Load/save mask - load mask from disk
look for the mask named WSL_Mask109 again
and using the same settings, load the mask

layers merge - merge group

copy and paste frame02 onto your canvas

copy and paste your tube of choice, I used a zindy one but you can always mix it up a bit and use a different one..but if using the same as me,

first, using the selection tool, select inside the frame using these settings

dont forget the spaces between the ribbon too...

then go to Selections - modify - expand by 5

now copy and paste your tube as a new layer, then go to selections invert and hit the delete key on your keyboard.

now slide your tube layer underneath the frame layer just by dragging it down in the layer palette, or by going to Arrange - layers - move down.

add a drop shadow i used the settings below..

copy and paste Flower01 onto your canvas resize by 50% and place to the bottom right hand of the frame, add the same drop shadow as before

do the same with Flower02 but resize this flower by 40% again same drop shadow...
now duplicate this flower and add to the top left hand side of the frame.

now copy and paste the butterfly onto your canvas, resize by 40% using smartsize
then rotate to the right by 20..

do this by going to Image- rotate - free rotate and use these settings

go to adjust sharpness - sharpen

now its time to add your name...
I used paper02 as a pattern fill for my text....

do this opening up paper02 i resized mine by 50% smartsize... leave your paper open and select your text tool,

click on the background fill in the material palete, select the pattern tab, find your paper..use these settings...

now you have your fill, select the foreground colour in the material palette and set that to color - white

now in the toll bar up the top are settings for your text make sure yours are the same as mine....

kerning should be set to '0'

ok now just click on your canvas and write your name.
and add a drop shadow..i used the following

now add the artist's © and save your tag as a PNG.

Thanks for trying my tutorial x
