BEHIND THE MASK

This tutorial was written by me Diane Knight on 18th October 2007
 any resemblance to any other tut is purely coincidental
For this scrap type tut I am using the fantastic artwork of Suzanne Woolcott
Her tubes are available for PSP usage from AMI

you will need PSP, some and accents of choice

font used was Twelve ton goldfish

heart scrap element from Gisela at scrapheaven

Brushes from timeonmyhands

Behind the mask

open a new canvas 500 x 500

flood fill with white

select your preset tool - rectangle with following settings
horizontal radius 0 vertiacal radius 0 line Width 15 with your foreground colour a colour from your tube i chose a dark greenybrown and background fill none.

draw out a rectangle roughly 275 x330 pixels,

convert layer to raster layer and duplicate.

add a new raster layer

draw out another rectangle the same as before, but this time using a light green from your tube.

go to image - rotate - free rotate - left by 5

click on the bottom brown rectangle and go to image - rotate - free rotate - right by 5

click on your top brown rectangle and then select your magic wand tool and click inside the rectangle, go to Selections - modify - expand by 2,

add a new raster layer and flood fill with a gradient of your choice.

 then drag the gradient layer underneath the  rectangles.

 go to Effects - Plugins - Alien skin xenofex 2 - constellation with the following setings.

add a drop shadow to all the rectangles, I  used  Vertical 1 - Horizontal 1 - opacity 61 - blur 6 colour black.

now add your tube of choice and add the same drop shadow as before and drag this tube layer below your top rectangle layer

add some scrap elements of choice I coloured mine to match the tag

to adjust the colour by going to Adjust - hue and saturation - colourise and use the following settings.

again add the same drop shadow as before.

 

almost there..now add a new raster layer just above the bottom layer (white background) select your paintbrush tool and select some brushes of choice,

choose a colour from your tube and just click on your canvas around your tag till your happy with the result.

add your artist's©

add your name ..save as a jpg or a png and your done.
